Buy Ellanite 0.03mg/3mg Tablets

Ellanite 0.03mg/3mg Tablets are a combined oral contraceptive pill that’s over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.

Just like other hormonal contraceptives, it will not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). To protect yourself from an STD, a barrier method, such as a condom, should also be used.

How Ellanite 0.03mg/3mg Tablets work

Ellanite 0.03mg/3mg Tablets contain two different female hormones: drospirenone and ethinylestradiol. The hormones work together to stop you from ovulating. The tablets also thicken the mucus inside your cervix, making it more difficult for sperm to enter your uterus.

Directions

Always take Ellanite 0.03mg/3mg Tablets exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.

If you forget to take Ellanite or you have had a bout of sickness or diarrhoea, refer to the patient information leaflet for advice.

Take 1 tablet a day with water, at around the same time.

Each strip contains 21 tablets, each printed with the day of the week. If you start your tablets on a Wednesday, make sure you take the tablet labelled “WED”. Then, follow the arrow on the strip until all of the tablets have been taken.

Once you have completed the strip, do not take any tablets for the next 7 days. During this break, bleeding should begin. Bleeding will typically start on day 2 or 3 of your tablet-free days.

On the 8th day, you should start your second strip, even if you’re still bleeding. You will start your strip on the same day each week. When following the instructions, you will be protected against pregnancy during the days you are not taking the tablets.

When you can start taking Ellanite

If you have not used hormonal contraception in the last month

Take Ellanite on the first day of your period. Starting on the first day will immediately protect you from pregnancy. You can also start on days 2-5 of your cycle. However, you will need to use additional contraception for the first 7 days.

Changing from a combined hormonal contraceptive, combined vaginal ring or patch

You should start taking Ellanite on the day after the last active tablet of your previous pill but no later than the day after the tablet-free days of your last pill.

When you are changing from a combined vaginal ring or patch, you must seek advice from your GP or prescriber.

Changing from a progesterone-only pill, injection, implant or a progesterone-releasing intrauterine system (IUS)

You can switch any day from a progesterone-only pill. You should start taking Ellanite the day your implant or IUS has been removed or when your next injection is due. In all of these cases, you must use additional contraception for the first 7 days.

After a miscarriage or abortion

You may be able to start taking Ellanite straight away after a miscarriage or abortion. However, your doctor or prescriber will advise you on when you can start taking the tablets.

After having a baby

You can start taking the tablets 21-28 days after giving birth. If you start later than 28 days, you must use a barrier method, such as a condom, for the first 7 days of taking Ellanite. If you have had unprotected sex before starting your tablets, you must ensure you are not pregnant or wait for your next period before starting Ellanite.

Side effects

Ellanite may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:

  • Breast pain or tenderness
  • Menstrual disorders or bleeding between periods
  • Headaches
  • Depressive mood
  • Nausea
  • Thick, white discharge
  • Yeast infections

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

If you notice any of the following side effects, stop taking Ellanite and seek medical advice straight away:

  • Dimpling of the skin
  • Changes in your nipples
  • Lumps in your breast
  • Vaginal discharge that smells and/or contains blood
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Painful sex
  • Pelvic pain
  • Severe pain in your upper abdomen
  • Yellow skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Itching of your whole body

Although rare, the risk of developing a blood clot is at its highest during the first year of taking a combined oral contraceptive for the first time. After the first year, the risk is lower. However, it remains slightly higher than if you were not taking a combined oral contraceptive.

There is a slightly higher risk of breast cancer when taking these tablets in comparison to women who do not take oral contraceptives. When you stop taking combined oral contraceptives, the risk factor gradually reduces.

In rare cases, liver tumours have been reported in women taking oral contraception.
