Covonia Night Time Hot Dose Cough And Cold Syrup 150ml

What is Covonia and when should it be used?

Covonia is an oral syrup used to relieve dry, unproductive cough. This version of Covonia is best taken at night to help you sleep during bouts of cold and flu.

This cough syrup contains two active ingredients, dextromethorphan hydrobromide and diphenhydramine hydrochloride.

The first ingredient is a suppressant which relieves cough by acting on the cough reflex in the brain. The second ingredient is an antihistamine which helps to relieve symptoms of the common cold, such as congestion and rhinorrhoea (runny nose).

How do I take this cough medicine?

Shake the bottle well and use the measuring cup provided in the pack. This syrup is to be taken by mouth only.

The recommended dose for adults and children over the age of 12 is 15ml. When mixed with hot water, the syrup provides a small ‘shot-like’ dose that is sipped at bedtime.

To prepare your dose, heat a small amount of water. The water should be hot but not boiling. Add 15ml of cough syrup to a small glass. Then add 15ml (3 teaspoons) of water and stir.

Take your dose within 10 minutes of making for best effect.

Another dose may be taken after 6 hours if needed.
