Califig Syrup of Figs is a natural food supplement that can promote regularity and prevent constipation. Figs are naturally very high in fibre, contributing towards healthy and regulated bowel movements. Califig Syrup of Figs also contains calcium to support digestion and the normal function of digestive enzymes.

What is the recommended dosage?

For adults: Take 15-30ml (one to two tablespoonfuls)

For children aged 6-15 years: Take 7.5-15ml (one and a half to three teaspoonfuls)

For children aged 3-6 years: Give 5-10ml (one to two teaspoonfuls)

For children aged 1-3 years: Give 2.5-5ml (half to one teaspoonful)

Is Califig a laxative?

If you exceed the recommended dose of Califig Syrup of Figs then you may experience laxative effects. Califig Syrup of Figs can prevent constipation by supplementing more fibre into your diet, helping you to stay regular. Please note: food supplements are intended to supplement the diet and shouldn’t be regarded as a substitute for a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

What causes constipation?

If you’re constipated, you’ll find that you may struggle to pass a bowel movement. This is very common and can affect people for a many different reasons, including:

  • Not eating enough fibre

  • Not drinking enough water

  • Spending long periods sitting or lying down

  • Being less active or not exercising

  • Ignoring the urge to go to the toilet

  • Changing your daily routine, i.e. going on holiday

  • Certain medications

  • Stress, anxiety or depression

  • Pregnancy

Most of the time, constipation will go away if you make some small lifestyle changes, such as adding more fibre into your diet. That’s where a food supplement like Califig Syrup of Figs could help you.

Who is Califig suitable for?

Califig Syrup of Figs is a natural food supplement that is suitable for the whole family, apart from children under 1. Adults and children over 1 must follow the recommended dosage dependent on their age. Do not take Califig Syrup of Figs if you are experiencing severe abdominal pain or sudden changes to your bowel movements - in this case, consult your doctor.

Are there any side effects?

Califig Syrup of Figs has no known side effects at this time apart from a potential laxative effect, resulting in diarrhoea and/or abdominal pain, if you exceed the recommended dose. If you experience any unwanted effects after taking Califig Syrup of Figs, report them to your doctor.
