What is Benylin Mucus Cough Relief Night Syrup?

This Benylin syrup is a treatment that works to relieve the effects of a mucus cough and its effects at night time. The liquid contains three active ingredients that help to relieve the effects of a mucus cough:

  • Diphenhydramine

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that helps to reduce coughing, and also helps you to sleep. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosens phlegm and mucus from the lungs which make it easier to cough up. Levomenthol helps to make breathing easier by relieving a congested nose.

What caused a mucus cough?

A mucus cough is caused by mucus and phlegm becoming clogged up in the airways and lungs, this makes breathing difficult and as a result, a cough starts occurring. A cough is the body’s way of trying to remove the trapped mucus and phlegm. The main cause of mucus build-up is an infection, such as a cold or the flu.
