What is Benylin Dry Cough 7.5mg/5ml Syrup?

This Benylin syrup is a treatment that relieves the effects of a dry, irritating cough. The active ingredient contained in this medicine syrup is dextromethorphan hydrobromide, which is a cough suppressant. It works to reduce a cough that has been caused by a cold or the flu.

This Benylin medicine is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 12 and over. Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the syrup. It should also not be used by anyone with any of the following:

  • Taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
  • Taking antidepressants

How should Benylin Dry Cough 7.5mg/5ml Syrup be used?

The recommended dosage of this syrup is 10ml (two 5ml spoonfuls) up to four times a day. If symptoms persist after using, then speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist.


Are there any side effects?

  • Swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue
