Promethazine is used to treat problems affecting the inner ear and balance, such as dizziness and sickness. Travel sickness is caused by repeated unusual movements during travelling.
It works by blocking a certain natural substance that your body makes during an allergic reaction. Its other effects may work by affecting other natural substances and by acting directly on certain parts of the brain.

Avomine tablets contain promethazine as the active ingredient. Cinnarizine is an antihistamine medicine that works in the brain.
It prevents an area of the brain called the vomiting centre from receiving nerve messages sent from the vestibular apparatus in the inner ear.
