What is Anthisan Cream For Insect Bites & Stings?
Anthisan Cream For Insect Bites and Stings is a cream that is designed to reduce pain, itching, and inflammation as a result of an insect bite or sting, as well as nettle rash. The active ingredient in the cream is mepyramine maleate, which is an antihistamine. Antihistamines work by blocking the chemical histamine that is produced during an allergic reaction.
Can an insect sting or bite cause an allergic reaction?
An allergic reaction after a sting or bite from an insect can happen but it is not a common occurrence. When someone it was bitten or stung, the area will generally produce pain, redness on the skin and some swelling. These effects may look like an allergic reaction but it isn’t. This is why antihistamines can often be used to treat insect bites and stings, as swelling and redness are side effects of an allergy. Side effects of an insect bite or sting allergy may include difficulty breathing, a tight throat, or feeling faint. If you notice any of these side effects after an insect bite or sting, speak to a doctor immediately.
