What is Suresign Blood Pressure Monitor?

This Suresign Blood Pressure Monitor is comfortable and easy-to-use, providing accurate measurements that you can trust. It’s designed to measure your systolic and diastolic arterial blood pressure in the comfort and privacy of your own home, the ideal solution if you need to regularly take blood pressure readings. This monitor also includes an irregular heartbeat detector and WHO classification indicator.

How to use this product

For 5-10 minutes before using the blood pressure monitor, you shouldn’t eat, drink, consume alcohol, smoke, bathe or exercise. Doing so may provide an inaccurate reading. To use, remove any garments on your arm and always measure on the same arm (usually the left). Ensure you’re in a comfortable, relaxed position with uncrossed legs and your feet flat on the floor. Do not constrict your muscles or talk during the measurement.

To position the cuff on the arm, refer to the pictures in the information leaflet provided. Insert the tube plug into the air connector. Press the ‘O/I’ button and the pump should begin to inflate. Press button ‘M1’ or ‘M2’ to record the reading. You should rest for 3 minutes before taking another reading. If you want to stop the measurement, for example you are feeling unwell, you can press the ‘O/I’ button and it will quickly release the air and return into standby mode.

Who might need to test their blood pressure?

A blood pressure check is a routine part of many doctors appointments, but some people may need to be tested more often due to certain risk factors. People who have chronic health conditions, particularly hypertension (high blood pressure) or heart disease, will find it beneficial to keep a blood pressure monitor at home so they can test themselves regularly.

What do blood pressure results mean?

Your blood pressure reading will show a top number and a bottom number. The top number is your systolic blood pressure, the highest level your blood pressure reaches when your heart beats and pumps blood around your body.

The bottom number is your diastolic blood pressure, the lowest level your blood pressure reaches as your heart relaxes between each beat. Your reading will be measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) - the ideal blood pressure reading is between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg.

Is SURESIGN Blood Pressure Monitor suitable for children?

This device is only suitable for children aged 15 years and over. If you’re looking for a blood pressure monitor for a child under the age of 15, you should speak to your GP or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice.

Is SURESIGN Blood Pressure Monitor suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using this device.

If you have had a mastectomy, do not use this device on the arm on the side of the mastectomy. Do not use this device on any arm where intravascular access or therapy is present.
