What is Hyalofemme and when is it used?
Hyalofemme is a hormone free vaginal moisturiser used to relieve vaginal dryness. The odourless gel works fast to relieve itchiness, burning and pain related with vaginal dryness.
Vaginal dryness is common, especially around menopause, but may also be caused by:
- Pregnancy and/or breastfeeding
- Stress, anxiety or other neurological factors
- Radiotherapy or chemotherapy
How will it relieve my symptoms
The gel contains a patented form of hyaluronic acid called Hydeal-D. It works by drawing moisture to dehydrated cells in the vaginal tissue. By doing this, the cells become plump, restored and moisturised.
Can I buy Hyalofemme Over the Counter?
Yes, Hyalofemme gel is a nonprescription treatment. It can be bought from your pharmacist or online from Chemist-4-U. The gel is free from preservatives such as parabens and completely hormone free.
Can this treatment cause any side effects?
Hyalofemme contains an active ingredient which is very similar to an acid which is found naturally in the cody. Because of this, the gel is very rarely causes side effects.
However, if you experience any signs of side effects, such as discharge, stop using the gel and consult your GP before trying any other treatments or gels.
Hyalofemme ingredients
The active ingredient in this treatment is Hydeal-D, which is a type of hyaluronic acid.
This moisturising gel also contains:
- Propylene glycol
- Methylpropanediol
- Carbomer
- 1,2-hexanediol
- Caprylyl glycol
- Sodium hydroxide
- Purified water
The gel is free from parabens and does not contain hormones.
How do I use this treatment? How often do I need to use it?
The gel comes with a reusable applicator which is used to apply the gel directly into the vagina. Use the applicator to apply the gel once every three days.
To prepare the gel for application, simply attach the tube to the applicator. Gently squeeze the tube to fill the applicator with gel. Then insert the applicator into the vagina, hold it steady and press the plunger to apply the gel.
How should I store this treatment?
Store the tube in a cool and dry place, below 30°C. Always keep our of sight and reach of children.
Can Hyalofemme gel affect the use of condoms?
Yes, it may affect certain types of condoms. The gel is fine and safe to use with latex and polyisoprene condoms, but should not be used with polyurethane condoms. Always check what type of condom you are using before combining with this treatment.
