Important: If your BMI shows you may be suitable for weight loss treatment, you must still complete an online consultation to request treatment. Our clinicians will review your consultation and health profile to ensure treatment is right for you before issuing a prescription. Meeting BMI requirements does not guarantee treatment.

How to use our BMI calculator:
To use a BMI calculator, you enter your height and weight, and it will tell you where on the BMI scale you are. In most cases, BMI calculators will give you a number and tell you whether your BMI classifies you as underweight, normal, overweight, or obese.
How we calculate BMI:
To calculate BMI, we use a simple formula that divides your weight by your height squared. Â However, this can change slightly depending on whether you use metric or imperial.
For metric:
Measure your height in meters.
Measure your weight in kilograms.
Multiply your height by itself (to square it).
Divide your weight by your squared height.
The result is your BMI.
For imperial:
Measure your height in inches.
Measure your weight in pounds.
Multiply your height by itself (to square it).
Divide your weight by your squared height.
Multiply the result by 703.
This will tell you your BMI.
Fortunately, our calculator quickly does all the math for you.
Are BMI calculators accurate?
If you enter your exact height and weight, a BMI calculator will give you an accurate reading of your BMI. It’s important to weigh yourself and measure your height properly beforehand to get the most accurate reading possible.
What does this calculator tell me?
Our calculator will tell you your BMI and whether that makes you underweight, normal, overweight, or obese. Depending on your result, it will also tell you whether you might be eligible for weight loss treatment with us. This will be the case if your BMI is over 30 or above 27 and you have a weight-related health condition.
It will also show you the different categories of BMI and what yours would need to be to fit within each. This can help with setting your objectives and targets for weight loss.
Will this calculator tell me if I can get weight loss medication?
Our BMI calculator will tell you if your BMI meets the eligibility criteria for weight loss medication. However, just because you have the right BMI for weight loss medication doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be prescribed. You’ll still need to complete a consultation with our clinicians, so they can review your health and decide if it’s appropriate for you.
Knowing and understanding your BMI is one of the first steps towards getting started.
"BMI is a useful tool for understanding your weight, but it doesn’t give you the complete picture. There are many different factors that BMI doesn’t take into account, like where you store fat on your body, how active you are, your muscle mass and age. This is why we always review your health before prescribing weight loss treatment. We need to fully understand your full profile to ensure we’re providing what’s best for our patients."
