What is CeraVe Micellar Cleansing Water With Niacinamide?

CeraVe Micellar Cleansing Water With Niacinamide is an ultra-gentle, effective way to cleanse your skin and remove makeup, excess sebum and impurities. Developed with dermatologists, this micellar cleansing water is non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, so it’s perfect for all skin types, including acne-prone and dry skin. It’s designed to lift and sweep away impurities while respecting your skin’s natural barrier. Unlike foaming cleansers, this product requires no rinsing, and with the added boost of niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3, it can help to purify your complexion by managing redness, oil production and inflammation.

How to use this product

Shake the bottle well and saturate a cotton pad. To remove face makeup, gently swipe over the skin until it's completely free of makeup and impurities. There is no need to rinse. To remove eye makeup, use a fresh, saturated cotton pad and hold over closed eyes for a few seconds, then gently wipe the eye until it's makeup-free. CeraVe Micellar Cleansing Water is suitable for both morning and evening use to cleanse the skin and remove makeup.

How does micellar water work?

Micellar water is made with micelles, tiny lipid cleansing molecules suspended in water.  Micelles have hydrophilic and hydrophobic qualities, giving them the ability to capture dirt, impurities and make-up like a magnet and lift them away from the surface of your skin without any harsh rubbing.

What are the benefits of niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B-3 and it’s a great solution if you’re dealing with rosacea or acne as it can reduce inflammation, minimise the appearance of pores and regulate oil production. It helps to build proteins in the skin and lock in moisture, in addition to aiding the prevention of sun damage and environmental pollutants.

Why is removing makeup so important?

If you wear makeup, removing it at the end of the day should be the most important part of your skincare routine. That’s because the skin renews overnight while you’re asleep, and by leaving your makeup on, you can end up preventing this essential process. When dirt and dead skin cells are not removed from your skin, they can end up clogging your pores and causing breakouts.

What skin type do I have?

Determining your skin type is the first step in finding the skincare routine that’s right for you. If your skin produces too much sebum, it may become oily and you’ll probably find that your skin feels overly greasy and shiny. If you have dry skin, you could be suffering from skin that is rough, scaly or flaky. If you’ve got a combination skin type, you’ll probably find that the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) will generally be oily and prone to blemishes.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use CeraVe Micellar Cleansing Water With Niacinamide if you are allergic to niacinamide or any of the other listed ingredients. For use on the skin only, do not swallow. Do not use on broken, bleeding, infected or otherwise damaged skin. If you experience any irritation while using this product, stop using it right away. If irritation persists, speak to your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. If irritation is severe (for example, symptoms of a severe allergic reaction), seek immediate medical assistance.
