What is CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser?

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a moisturising cleansing lotion that’s ideal for normal to dry skin. If you’re looking for a gentle cleanser that will lift away dirt, oils, and makeup without irritating your sensitive skin, this soothing cleansing lotion could be just what your daily skincare routine needs. It both cleanses and hydrates your skin, using 3 essential ceramides to support your skin’s natural protective barrier while locking in moisture and increasing skin hydration after just one use.

How will CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser hydrate my dry skin?

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser uses 3 essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid, which work together to support your skin barrier and help it retain moisture. It uses CeraVe’s patented MVE® delivery technology to provide up to 24-hour hydration, ideal for dry skin that needs long-lasting care. When used with CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion, it creates a daily skincare routine that helps to hydrate and protect your sensitive skin while gently removing dirt, oils, and makeup.

What are ceramides?

Ceramides are natural oils, also known as lipids, which appear in your skin where they help to support its natural protective barrier. When you’re younger your skin creates more ceramides, but as you get older sun damage and environmental damage can deplete the ceramides in your skin, weakening the skin barrier. CeraVe products contain ceramides to help boost your skin’s natural protection, helping to make it stronger, more resilient, and more youthful-looking.

What is MVE® delivery technology?

CeraVe’s patented MVE® delivery technology is a unique system that gives your skin the benefits of CeraVe products for up to 24-hours. It slowly releases the ingredients over time, continually releasing the ceramide enriched formula for long-lasting hydration. This is perfect if you don’t have time to fit skincare into your busy day or have dry, sensitive skin that could benefit from long-lasting care.

Which skin types is this cleanser suitable for?

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is suitable for normal to dry skin, including skin that’s prone to irritation. It’s free from fragrance and soap and is hypoallergenic, making it perfect for skin that dries out or flares up when it comes into contact with common irritants. This cleanser is specially formulated for sensitive facial skin, so if you find other cleansers to be a bit too harsh, CeraVe could be ideal for you.

Can I use this cleanser if I have eczema?

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is suitable for skin that’s prone to eczema or other similar dry skin conditions, such as atopic dermatitis. Not only is this cleanser free from common irritants that can trigger eczema flare-ups, but it also helps your skin to retain its natural moisture, which is ideal for dry, irritated skin. The ceramides in this cleanser help to support your skin’s natural barrier, which can be disrupted during flare-ups, so it could be ideal for those with dry skin conditions who find other cleansers irritating and are looking for something more suited to their skin.

Does this cleanser work as a makeup remover?

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser can remove makeup as well as dirt and oils, so it’s perfect for using as a part of your skincare routine at the end of the day. You can also use it in the morning to cleanse your face before you apply your makeup, providing a cleansed and hydrated base to work from.

How to use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

Apply CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser to wet hands and gently massage into the skin before rinsing thoroughly. Use in the morning and in the evening for best results.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser if you are allergic to hyaluronic acid or any of the other listed ingredients. For use on the skin only, avoid contact with eyes and do not swallow. Do not use on broken, bleeding, infected, or otherwise damaged skin. If you experience any irritation while using this product, stop use right away. If irritation persists, speak to your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. If irritation is severe (for example, symptoms of a severe allergic reaction), seek immediate medical assistance.
