How will this Salonpas Patch help to ease my pain?
Salonpas Patches contain two active ingredients which work together to relieve your muscular aches and pains when applied to the affected area. These two active ingredients are levomenthol and methyl salicylate, which work by soothing the area and providing pain relief when you need it most.
How to use this medicated plaster?
Before using this plaster, make sure the affected area is clean and dry. Bend the patch and detach the centre part of the film. Place the plaster onto the affected area and slide the film backward, then slide the other film forward. Leave the plaster in place for up to 8 – 12 hours. Use only 1 plaster at a time, if pain comes back 8 – 12 hours after using first plaster then apply a second. Do not use more than 2 plasters in a day and do not use for more than 3 days in a row.
When should this Salonpas Patch not be used?
Salonpas Patches are not suitable for use by children under the age of 18. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients. Do not apply these plasters to open wounds, irritated skin, eyes, or mucous membranes. Do not use this Salonpas Patch if you:
- Suffer with allergic conditions, have a history of allergy, or had attacks of asthma, especially when taking other painkillers, medicines to reduce fever, or any Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (e.g. ibuprofen, aspirin)
- Are taking similar pain-relieving products
- Have had a severe heart condition
- Have severe problems with your kidneys or liver
- Have any bleeding ulcers or bleeding problems
- Are pregnant
Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you:
- Have or have had a stomach ulcer/bleeding, or a history of stomach ulcers, discomfort after eating, or heartburn
- Have a history of asthma
- Are elderly, as you may be more prone to adverse side effects
- Are breastfeeding or are planning to become pregnant

Does this product have any side effects?
Like all medicines, Salonpas Patches can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These side effects include:
- Erythema (redness) in the application site
- Pruritus (itching), pain, and warmth in the application site
- Headache
- Rash and skin discolouration in the application site
- Itching and rash
- Tinnitus (ringing or high-pitched noise in the ears)
If you experience these or any other side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away.
