Buy Zineryt acne solution
You can buy Zineryt as long as it's been approved and prescribed by one of our clinicians.
Zineryt is a prescription-only, topical lotion used to treat mild to moderate acne across the face, back and chest.
What are the active ingredients in Zineryt?
There are two active ingredients in Zineryt acne solution:
- Erythromycin (40mg/ml)
- Zinc acetate (12mg/ml)
How does Zineryt treat acne?
Zineryt treats acne by using a combination of both active ingredients.
Erythromycin is an antibiotic that works by killing the bacteria associated with acne breakouts (Cutibacterium acnes).
The zinc acetate then works with erythromycin to enhance the antibiotic’s effectiveness and reduces bacterial resistance. It also has anti-inflammatory products that calm redness and irritation.
How long do you need to use Zineryt for?
A full course of Zineryt is usually around 10-12 weeks. Results may become visible after just a few weeks, but more often it can take 6-8 weeks to see a meaningful improvement.
You should avoid prolonged, or repeated use of Zineryt. You may build up a resistance to the antibiotics if you use them for too long, or too often.
If you’ve not noticed any improvement after 6-8 weeks, then it may be worth going back to your GP. They will be able to suggest if there are other treatments more suitable for you.
How effective is Zineryt?
Zineryt is considered to be highly effective, with treatment often being well tolerated with minimal side effects. Studies show that over a full 12-week course, there was a 64.5% reduction of spots for people using Zineryt.
How to use Zineryt
Before using Zineryt you should make sure that your hands have been washed thoroughly with warm water and soap. To use Zineryt:
- Apply Zineryt all over the affected area, not just the individual spots.
- Apply it twice a day, morning and evening.
- Avoid getting the lotion in your eyes, nose or mouth. If you do, wash the area quickly and thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- If you’ve applied too much lotion, you can blot the excess off with some tissue paper.
If you forget to use Zineryt, you should apply it as soon as you remember. Missing an application can slow down acne healing. If you’ve got another application due soon, you should leave at least three hours before you re-apply it.
Zineryt side effects
Like all medication, Zineryt lotion can cause side effects in some people. However, side effects tend to be mild and infrequent.
The most common Zineryt side effects are:
- temporary stinging
- redness where the treatment is applied
Despite being the most common side effects, these are still rare, as they only affect up to one in 1,000 people. If you want a full list of side effects, then you should check the patient information leaflet.
When to avoid Zineryt
You should not use Zineryt if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, or any antibiotics of the macrolide group.
Additionally, unless advised otherwise you should not use it on broken, or eczema-prone skin.
You should always consult with your doctor or pharmacist first if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- will need to apply to large areas of broken or damaged skin (this increases absorption, so you may need to use less)
Zineryt and other medications
Zineryt generally has a low risk of interacting with other medicines. However, speak to your clinician if you are taking any other oral or topical antibiotics.
How to store Zineryt
Zineryt should be kept in a cool, dry location that is out of sight and reach of children. It’s advised to store it in its original packaging, making sure it’s not kept above 25°C.
You should always make sure that you use Zineryt before the expiration date has passed.
Important: The use-before date is five weeks after the pharmacist has prepared this medicine into a solution.
Alternatives to Zineryt
If Zineryt isn’t for you, there are lots of other options when it comes to trying to tackle acne.
If you’re looking for another topical antibiotic, you can complete a consultation for Dalacin T lotion.
If you don’t want to use a topical antibiotic, you could consider:
- Antibiotic + benzoyl peroxide combinations: Duac and Epiduo
- Topical retinoids: Differin gel (also available as a cream) and Treclin
- Benzoyl peroxide alone: Acnecide
If you’re unsure what is best for you, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist. They will be able to better explain your options and help find the treatment most suited to your needs.

Why is this treatment mixed by a pharmacist before it’s sent to me?
If Zineryt solution is prescribed for you, you may notice that it’s been mixed by your pharmacist before it’s given to you.
This is because the solution has a much shorter shelf life when it’s mixed together than the separate powder and solvent used to make this medication have on their own.
By mixing this medication together when you need it, our pharmacists ensure that your medication is not only ready to use right away but won’t go out of date within the time you need to use it.
Can I still wear makeup when using Zineryt?
You can still wear makeup when wearing Zineryt. However, make sure that the solution has entirely dried before you use any cosmetics. It’s recommended to avoid any alcohol-based skincare products as this can cause irritation.
Is Zineryt prescription-only?
Zineryt is a prescription-only medication, meaning that you will need to go to a doctor, or complete an online consultation with a pharmacist in order to obtain it.
Which is better Duac or Zineryt?
A 2009 study observed that Duac worked faster than Zineryt, with roughly twice as many patients seeing an improvement in spots in the first two weeks.
The gap did narrow towards the end of the study, but Duac still ended on top with total spots reduced by 69.8% compared to 64.5% on Zineryt.
