What is Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture?
Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture is a treatment for sore throats that can also help to relieve hoarseness and loss of voice. This mixture can be gargled or swallowed undiluted, helping to relieve symptoms of a sore throat.
What causes sore throats?
Sore throats are normally caused by viruses, such as cold and flu, but can also be caused by bacteria and even smoking. As well as feeling pain and scratching in your throat, you could also experience difficulty swallowing, swollen glands in your neck, or swollen tonsils.
How does Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture relieve sore throats?
Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture contains three active ingredients which work together to relieve symptoms of sore throat, hoarseness, and loss of voice. These active ingredients are:
- Capsicum tincture
- Acetic acid
- Extract of squill
How to use Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture.
Shake the bottle well before using this mixture. Mix 10ml (2 x 5ml spoonfuls) of Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture with 10ml of water. Gargle with this solution and then spit it out. Do this once every hour. You can also swallow 1 x 5ml spoonful of undiluted Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture three times every day.
When should Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture not be used?
Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture is not suitable for use by those under the age of 8. Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture contains alcohol, but the amount is unlikely to cause drowsiness or affect your ability to drive or use machinery or tools. However, you should always make sure you are not affected before driving or operating machinery. Do not use Sanderson’s Throat Specific Mixture if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed. Do not use this product if you:
- Have breathing difficulties.
- Have raised pressure in your head.
- Have any type of heart complaint.
- Have any liver or kidney problems.
- Are an alcoholic.
