How Fybogel Natural Fibre Drink - 30 Sachets work

Fybogel Natural Fibre Drink - 30 Sachets contain the active ingredient ispaghula husk. Ispaghula husk increases the fibre in your diet, helping your digestive system work more efficiently and gently relieving constipation.

 

Directions

Always take Fybogel Natural Fibre Drink - 30 Sachets exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 

 

Children aged between 6-12 years old:

Take 2.5ml in the morning and evening, preferably after meals.

 

Children over 12 years old and adults
Take 1 sachet in the morning and one in the evening, preferably after meals.

Pour the sachet into cold water. Stir well and consume straight away.

 

Side effects

Like all products, Fybogel Natural Fibre Drink - 30 Sachets may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include: 

 

  • Mild allergic reactions
  • Red or itchy eyes
  • A runny or blocked nose
  • Bloating 
  • Flatulence

 

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

 

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

 

Warnings

Fybogel Natural Fibre Drink - 30 Sachets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:

 

  • You have a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks
  • You are suffering from a blockage in the bowel
  • You have a weakness in the bowel wall
  • You have naturally occurring gut motility

 

Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this product if: 

 

  • You have phenylketonuria
  • You are suffering from undiagnosed rectal bleeding, and you are unable to pass stool following the use of laxatives
  • You have difficulty swallowing or throat problems 

 

Using/taking other medicines

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.

Do not take this product if you are currently taking medication that can cause constipation e.g. morphine or codeine. 

Do not take Fybogel within an hour before taking insulin or medication for thyroid problems.

 

Age restrictions 

This product is not suitable for children under 6 years old.

 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

You can take Fybogel Natural Fibre Drink if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new product. 

 

Storage information

Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
