What is Epaderm Junior Cream?

Epaderm Junior Cream is a treatment that helps to restore moisture in the skin that has been lost as a result of conditions such as dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis. This cream is unlike other emollient creams as it does not contain an ingredient known as Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), which can cause skin irritation. This cream also does not contain any fragrances or colourings.

What is the cause of dry skin?

Dry skin can be caused by a number of different factors which lead the skin to become flaky and uncomfortable. These factors can either be external or internal. External causes of dry skin can include:

  • The weather
  • Heat
  • A bath or a shower
  • Certain soaps and detergents
  • Some types of medication

Internal factors that can cause dry skin include:

  • Ageing
  • Hormonal changes
  • Genetic history
  • Diet

Not all factors can be controlled but with the right treatment, the effects can be reduced.

Who is this Epaderm Cream suitable for?

This cream can be used by children of any age. It should not be used if the child is allergic to the ingredients that are contained in the cream. If any other treatment is being used, including for conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, then it is recommended that you speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using.

How should Epaderm Junior Cream be used?

This cream can be used when needed for treating dry skin. For other conditions, it is recommended that a medical professional is consulted before using the cream. It should not be used on damaged or cracked skin.

Are there any potential side effects?

Any side effect of using this cream is most likely the result of an allergic reaction. If you notice a side effect when using this cream, stop using it and speak to a doctor or pharmacist for advice as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
