Beechams Powders Flu Plus Hot Lemon -10 Sachets are the perfect solution when it comes to providing you with relief from cold and flu symptoms. 

The sachets can also provide you with relief from mild to moderate pain. The lemon flavour of the sachets allows you to easily sip them, giving you relief when you need it the most. 

 

How Beechams Flu Plus Hot Lemon - 10 Sachets works

Beechams Flu Plus Hot Lemon - 10 Sachets contains 3 active ingredients: paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and ascorbic acid.

Paracetamol is a painkiller that also reduces your temperature when you have a fever. 

Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a decongestant. It works by unblocking your nose and sinuses, helping you to breathe more easily. 

Ascorbic acid is added to the product to replace the vitamin C which may be lost in the initial stages of a cold or the flu.

 

Directions

Always take Beechams Flu Plus Hot Lemon exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 

Mix the powder with hot water and stir before drinking. 

One sachet should be taken every 4-6 hours. Do not take more than 6 sachets in 24 hours.

 

Side effects

Like all medicines, Beechams Flu Plus Hot Lemon - 10 Sachets may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:

 

  • Raised blood pressure
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Difficulty sleeping 
  • Nervousness 
  • Anxiety 
  • Diarrhoea 
  • Sickness

 

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

 

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

 

Warnings

Beechams Flu Plus Hot Lemon - 10 Sachets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:

 

  • You have kidney or liver problems 
  • You have an overactive thyroid 
  • You have diabetes
  • You have high blood pressure
  • You have heart disease
  • You have an enlarged prostate
  • You have glaucoma 

 

Talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this medication if:

 

  • You have Raynaud's phenomenon 
  • You have heart or circulation disease
  • You have a controlled sodium diet 
  • You have a severe infection

 

Using/taking other medicines

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.

You should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are on the following medications: 

 

  • Metoclopramide or domperidone for nausea or vomiting
  • Ergotamine or methysergide for migraines
  • Medication to lower blood pressure or blood cholesterol 
  • Appetite suppressants or stimulants
  • Tricyclic antidepressants  
  • Anticoagulants e.g. warfarin 

 

Age restrictions 

This product is not suitable for children under the age of 16.

 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Do not take this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine. 

 

Driving and operating machinery 

This medication might impact your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive until you feel safe to do so. 

 

Storage information

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
