What are Vitabiotics Pregnacare His & Her Tablets?

Pregnacare His & Her Conception provides an opportunity for couples to conveniently take a specifically developed formula of nutrients for male and female reproductive health and overall wellbeing. When trying for a baby, both partners need to look after their diet and lifestyle to maximise their health and support conception. Couples should aim to be in the best possible health, at least 6 months before a baby is conceived. The sperm and ovum (egg) are formed a good while before fertilisation and need to be provided with the best nutrition possible for when they combine during conception and Pregnacare can help you to achieve this.

Tips for boosting your fertility

Trying for a baby isn’t always easy and you must prepare your body to maximise your chances of conceiving. Just a few simple lifestyle changes can help to boost your fertility and make a difference when trying to conceive.

Water

It is important to drink plenty of water (around 8 – 10 cups per day) as this helps to flush out waste products from your body and increases fertile quality cervical fluid.

Avoid alcohol

It can be beneficial to avoid or cut down on alcohol consumption as this can reduce fertility. Department of Health advice is to avoid alcohol completely if trying to conceive or during pregnancy

Caffeine

It is thought that caffeine can restrict the growth of a developing baby as it constricts blood vessels and reduces blood flow to the uterus. It is currently advised that you should limit caffeine to below 300mg (about 4 cups of instant coffee, 3 cups of fresh coffee or 6 cups of tea).

Smoking

Smoking can limit a woman’s chances of getting pregnant by 40% and can decrease a sperm count or increase the likelihood of sperm abnormalities in men.

Stress less

Stress can impact your chances of conceiving. Try not to worry and enjoy the process of trying for a baby.

Supplement

Taking a supplement, like Pregnacare, which are specially formulated for before conception will provide you with 400 micrograms of folic acid and other nutrients which help to support the nutritional requirements during conception.

Sex

Have sex at least 3 times a week. The more often you try, the more chances you will have of conceiving.

Lie down

Lying down for at least a few minutes after sex can increase the odds of sperm meeting with the egg.

Keep a calendar

A calendar that tracks the date when your period starts and the number of days that it lasts can help you to work out the optimum time for you to fall pregnant

Diet

Don’t participate in fad or crash diets as they can affect your ovulation and your fertility

STDs

Ensure that you have been properly screened for STDs. Pelvic inflammatory disease is common amongst women with the number 1 cause being an untreated sexually transmitted disease.
