Strepsils Honey & Lemon Lozenges are a flavoured medication that provide effective and soothing relief from the discomfort of sore throats.
How Strepsils Honey & Lemon Lozenges works
Strepsils Honey & Lemon Lozenges contain 2 antiseptic ingredients, amylmetacresol BP and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol HSE. They are both used for the relief of mouth and throat infections.
The ingredients are both mild antiseptics which kill the bacteria associated with mouth and throat infections.
The action of sucking the lozenge allows the ingredients to work in the area of discomfort. They also help to lubricate and soothe the painful area.
Directions
Always take Strepsils Honey & Lemon Lozenges exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Place the lozenge in the mouth and allow it to dissolve slowly.
You can take a lozenge every 2-3 hours. Do not take more than 12 lozenges in 24 hours.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Strepsils Honey & Lemon Lozenges may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
These lozenges may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these lozenges if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have an intolerance to certain sugars.

Using/taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medications.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
It is not recommended to use this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Age restrictions
This product is not recommended for children under 6 due to them being a choking hazard.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
