What is Scholl Verruca Removal Gel?

Scholl Verruca Removal Gel is a treatment for verrucas which can also be used on warts, corns, or calluses. This product breaks down the hard skin of verrucas, warts, corns, or calluses helping to get rid of them more quickly. A simple and effective treatment which begins to work right away, Scholl Verruca Removal Gel also works as mild pain relief, so you can forget about that pesky verruca.

What are verrucas?

Verrucas are small lumps of skin which are similar to warts but appear on your feet. They have small black dots under the hard skin and can be painful to walk on, feeling like you’re stepping on a needle. They will usually go away on their own, but this can take a long time, leaving people searching for a more immediate solution.

How will Scholl Verruca Removal Gel treat my verrucas?

Scholl Verruca Removal Gel contains the active ingredients salicylic acid and camphor. Salicylic acid helps to break down the tough skin that make up verrucas, warts, corns or calluses until they can be gently removed. Camphor provides mild pain relief, easing discomfort caused by verrucas when you walk, and the pain caused by friction or pressure on warts, corns, or calluses.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Scholl Verruca Removal Gel is not suitable for use during pregnancy or if you’re breastfeeding. If you’re suffering with a wart, verruca, corn, or callus during this time, ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend a suitable treatment for you.

Can I use this treatment if I have diabetes?

If you are diabetic, suffer with circulatory problems, or have neuropathy, you should not use this treatment unless you are told to do so by your doctor.

How to use this product

Before using this product, make sure your feet are clean and dry. Apply one or two drops of Scholl Verruca Removal Gel directly onto the verruca, wart, corn, or callus you wish to treat and let dry. Repeat treatment once every day for verrucas and warts and twice a day for corns and calluses until they can be easily removed by gently rubbing with a rough towel. Before applying more Scholl Verruca Removal Gel, wash the existing layer of the gel off with mild soap and water and let dry. Do not use for more than 12 weeks.

When should Scholl Verruca Removal Gel not be used?

Scholl Verruca Removal Gel is not suitable for use on children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to salicylic acid, any members of the aspirin family (such as NSAIDs), camphor, or any of the other listed ingredients. For external use only. Do not use this product:

  • If the skin surrounding your wart, corn, etc. is inflamed or broken
  • On moles, birthmarks, or moles with a hair growing from them
  • On genital warts
  • On your face, bottom or genitals
  • On large areas of your body
  • On healthy skin or skin which is inflamed or broken

Does Scholl Verruca Removal Gel have any side effects?

Like all medications, Scholl Verruca Removal Gel can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. This includes irritation or a rash if the gel is accidentally applied to the normal skin surrounding your verruca, wart, corn, or callus. If you experience this or any other side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
