What is Regaine For Women foam?

Regaine for Women is a once a day treatment which helps to treat hair loss in women. It helps to promote hair growth, giving your hair the help it needs to grow back strong and healthy. The ideal solution for women whose hair loss runs in their family.

What causes hair loss in women?

The most common cause of hair loss in women is hereditary hair loss, which means hair loss that runs in your family. If you are suffering from this, then you will notice that your hair begins to get thinner and lighter hair begins to slowly replace your usual hair. This happens when the hair follicles in your scalp begin to get smaller.

How does Regaine for Women treat my hair loss?

Regaine for Women contains active ingredient Minoxidil, which is thought to encourage blood flow to the follicles in your scalp. This stimulates your follicles and provides nutrients to your hair, helping to strengthen the hair and encourage hair growth.

How long will it take for this foam to work?

You may need to use Regaine once a day for 12 – 24 weeks before you see any hair re-growth, as growing hair is a very slow process. When you do see regrowth, the hair may be soft and downy and feel differently to your normal hair, but it should eventually gain the same texture as the rest of your hair.

Can I dye my hair if I’m using this product?

You can use Regaine for women if your hair is dyed or if you plan on dying your hair. You may need to let your stylist know that you are using this product before they work on your hair. It may also help to ask them to be gentle and use a wide-toothed comb on your hair, to minimise the breakage or damage that can be caused by pulling on the hair.

Can I use my regular hair products while I’m using Regaine?

You can style your hair exactly as you usually would using your favourite hair products while you’re using Regaine. However, this product needs to be applied to a dry scalp, so you should apply the treatment before you style your hair with these products.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Do not use Regaine for Women if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. This product is not safe for you and your baby at this time. If you’re ever in doubt about your medication when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist for advice.

Can I use this product if I’m taking any other medication?

Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using Regaine if you are taking any other medication, including those that you have obtained without a prescription. Some medications can interact when used together, making them less effective or causing unwanted side effects. This includes blood pressure medications called ‘vasodilators’ such as hydrazaline, as the minoxidil in this product can interact with these medications and increase their effects. Speak to your doctor before using this product if you are using any creams, ointments, or lotions to treat scalp conditions, such as:

  • Dithranol – Used for psoriasis
  • Tretinoin – Used for acne and other skin disorders
  • Corticosteroids – A type of anti-inflammatory
  • Petrolatum – A common ingredient in hair wax or hair gel

Can men use Regaine for Women?

Men should not use the Regaine for Women range. However, if you are a man looking for a similar product, the Regaine for Men product is available and works in the same way.

Can I drive after using this product?

Regaine can cause dizziness or low blood pressure after use. Do not attempt to drive or operate tools or machinery after using this product unless you are sure that you are not affected in this way.

How to use Regaine Foam

Each dose of Regaine for Women is 1g, which is the same as half a capful of foam. Part your hair with a comb, making sure as much of your scalp is visible as possible. Use your fingertips to gently massage the Regaine foam into your scalp. Part hair again if needed so you can apply foam all over the affected area. Use only once a day.

When should Regaine For Women not be used?

Regaine for Women should not be used by men. This treatment is not suitable for children under the age of 18 or people older than 65.
