What are Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops?

Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops help to soften the hardened ear wax within your ears that causes blockage in your ear canal. These ear drops contain nothing but olive oil, making this the perfect natural way to clear your ears. Ideal for those who don’t want to use medicated ear drops.

Why are my ears blocked with earwax?

There are many reasons why earwax can harden and cause blockage in your ears. Some of the most common causes of ear wax blockage include:

  • Your ears naturally produce a lot of earwax.
  • Your ear canals are narrow.
  • You have a lot of hair growing in your ear canals.
  • Your age – earwax can become naturally harder as you get older.
  • You use a hearing aid, ear plugs or another in ear device that pushes earwax back into your ear.

How will these ear drops clear my blocked ears naturally?

Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops contain EP grade virgin olive oil which helps to soften hardened ear wax in your ear canals. This helps it to move naturally out of the ear and can prepare the earwax to be syringed out of the ear by a doctor or nurse.

Can I use these ear drops if I have a hearing aid?

You should not use Otex Olive Oil ear drops if you have a hearing air or are using any other in-ear treatment. If you’re suffering with blocked ears while using a hearing aid, speak to your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Otex Olive Oil ear drops are safe to use when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. Although there have been no safety trials performed, olive oil has been used as a remedy for blocked ears for a long time and no problems have been reported at this time.

Can I use this product if I have tinnitus?

You should not use these ear drops if you have tinnitus or any other ear condition, unless advised to do so by your doctor. Olive oil ear drops may not be the best solution for your problem, and a medical professional can help to make sure you’re using the right treatment.

Can I use this product if I’m using other medication?

You should not sue Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops if you are putting anything else in your ear, including other ear drops or ear medicines. However, this product is not known to affect any medications which aren’t used in the ear and should be safe to use alongside your other medications. If you’re ever unsure about using different treatments at the same time, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

How to use Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops

Before using Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops, remove dropper from separate sachet and insert into bottle. Squeeze the dropper to fill with ear drops and hold. Tilt your head to the side, making sure that the ear you wish to treat is facing upwards, and use the dropper to place 2 – 3 drops into your ear. Keep your head tilted for a few minutes so the drops stay in your ear. Repeat in other ear if necessary.

When should Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops not be used?

Do not use Otex Olive Oil Ear Drops if you are allergic to olive oil. Avoid getting eardrops into your eyes, if you do accidentally get ear drops into your eyes, rinse with clean water straight away. Do not use these ear drops if you:

  • Have a history of ear problems.
  • Are using any in-ear devices, such as a hearing aid or ear plugs.
  • Have had your ear syringed within the past 2 – 3 days.
  • Are using any other ear drops.
  • Have a damaged eardrum, or if your eardrum has previously been damaged.
  • Suffer from dizziness.
  • Have anything else wrong with your ear, e.g. ear infection, discharge, pain, tinnitus, etc.
  • You have tried to remove wax with a fingernail or cotton bud – this could damage the delicate lining of your ear canal.
  • The dropper is broken or damaged.
