All Otex ear drops can be used while you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
However, you should speak to your doctor before using any kind of medication at this time, so you can be sure that your treatment is the best choice for you and your little one.
The ingredients in Otex ear drops differ from product to product.
For more information, read the patient information leaflet that comes with your ear drops.
These leaflets are available online, and we’ve linked to them on each product’s individual page for your convenience.
The active ingredients in Otex ear drops are as follows:
- Otex Ear Drops, Otex Express and Combi Pack – Urea hydrogen peroxide
- Otex Olive Oil – EP grade virgin olive oil
- Otex Sodium Bicarbonate – Sodium bicarbonate
You should not use Otex ear drops if you have tinnitus or any other ear condition unless you have been told to do so by your doctor.
Some ear conditions can cause damage to your eardrum, which makes using ear drops dangerous.
If there is anything other than earwax causing you ear trouble, make sure to speak to your doctor and get their advice.
If you wear a hearing aid or any other in-ear device, you should not use Otex ear drops unless you have been told to by your doctor.
Hearing aids and similar devices can push earwax further down into your ear, so if you have a blocked ear your doctor should take a look at it and tell you what to do next.
