One of the active ingredients in Arnica Cream is Arnica, also called Arnica montana or Wolf’s Bane, which is a flower that is part of the sunflower family. The other active ingredient is ethanol.

How does Arnica Cream work?

Arnica Cream works by the chemicals in arnica working to reduce bruising and swelling as a natural aid to the healing process.

Made with Arnica Montana

Nelsons Arnicare Arnica Cream is made with Arnica Montana, a yellow flowering herb that has been used as a herbal medicine for centuries. It was traditionally used for analgesic and anti-inflammatory purposes.

In modern times, Arnica Montana is a popular treatment in homoeopathy used to treat bruises and swelling, sometimes as an alternative to lasonil cream. It has been found to have beneficial effects in treating the symptoms of osteoarthritis.

It is believed to speed up the healing process by stimulating your body to send more white blood cells to the affected area. The active components of arnica include sesquiterpene lactones and flavonoids which are known to reduce inflammation and ease the pain. It also contains thymol, an essential oil that acts as an antiseptic.

Pills or creams containing arnica are often recommended for dealing with symptoms of postpartum or post-surgery bruising. Homoeopaths tend to recommend the oral tablets for more severe issues and the topical gels and creams for more minor pain and bruising.

What can Arnica Montana be used for?

It has been used by consumers for conditions such as;
