What is E45 Dermatological Cream?

E45 Dermatological Cream is a treatment for dry skin that helps to restore moisture to the skin. It is suitable to be used in the following conditions:

  • Dry/flaky skin
  • Eczema
  • Itchy skin
  • Dry psoriasis
  • Sunburn

This cream contains 3 active ingredients, white soft paraffin, light liquid paraffin, and anhydrous lanolin that all help to restore and protect the skin. It leaves the skin soft and protected. This cream has been dermatologically protected.

What is the cause of dry skin?

Dry skin is the result of the skin barrier being damaged and moisture escaping the skin. This can be caused by a number of factors. This trigger can be either external or internal. External triggers that can cause dry skin include:

  • Hot or cold weather
  • UV sunlight
  • Chlorine in swimming pools
  • Soaps
  • Washing the skin often
  • Some types of medication

Internal factors that can cause dry skin include:

  • Ageing
  • Hormonal changes
  • Diet
  • A family history of dry skin

Not all triggers for dry skin are controllable so having the right treatment to reduce its effects is important.
