What is Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser?

Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser is a gentle foaming cleanser that removes surface oils, dirt, dead skin cells and light make up without drying out the skin. Its specialised formula will make a perfect addition to a daily routine for oily skin.

What causes oily skin?

The human body contains lots of little glands known as sebaceous glands, particularly on our faces. Sebaceous glands produce an oil known as sebum that moisturises and protects the skin. Sometimes the skin can produce too much sebum which results in oily skin.

There are many factors that can cause oily skin, such as:

Hormones

Puberty causes both genders to produce more testosterone which can increase the amount of oil our bodies produce. This is why teenagers frequently experience oily skin and acne.

Stress

The stress hormone, cortisol, an increase oil production.

Diet

Foodstuffs such as sugar, white bread and white rice can cause a spike in levels of insulin in the body. This increase in insulin can increase sebum production.

Weather

Sebum production can increase in warmer weather and when humidity levels rise.

Wet the face and apply a small amount. Massage and rinse.

If irritation occurs, discontinue using the product.
