What is Tixylix Baby Syrup?

Tixylix Baby Syrup is a cough medicine that’s suitable for young children aged 3 months to 5 years old. If your little one has a dry cough and you’re searching for a solution that’s right for children, this could be the perfect product for you and your child. Tixylix Baby Syrup is sugar-free and colour-free and contains natural blackcurrant flavourings that your child will love.

Why does my baby have a cough?

Everyone gets a cough every so often, and babies are no exception to this rule. The good news is that a little cough usually isn’t anything to worry about and will clear up by itself in a couple of weeks. However, coughs can make it difficult for your little one to sleep properly, or can make them feel uncomfortable or upset, which is why many parents look for a cough medicine that’s suitable for children.

How will Tixylix Baby Syrup ease my baby’s cough?

Tixylix Baby Syrup uses an active ingredient called glycerol to soothe your baby’s dry or tickly cough. It works as a cough suppressant, easing the irritation in the back of your baby’s throat that makes them cough, so they’ll cough less. This gives their irritated throat the chance to heal, easing their cough in the long term as well as short term.

Can adults take this product?

Tixylix Baby Syrup is for children aged 3 months to 5 years old and is not a suitable cough medicine for adults or older children. If you are suffering from a cough and need a cough syrup that’s right for you, ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend a suitable treatment.

Does this cough medicine contain any E numbers?

Tixylix Baby Syrup contains one E number, which is a preservative called sodium benzoate (E221). E221 is widely used as a preservative in foods, drinks, and medicines.

How much of this cough syrup should I give to my child?

Use the measuring spoon included to measure out the correct dose of Tixylix Baby Syrup and give it to your child. Do this 3 – 4 times a day, as needed, leaving 3 – 4 hours between each dose. The amount of cough syrup you should give to your child will differ depending on their age:

  • Infants aged 3 – 12 months: Give one 5ml spoonful
  • Children aged 1 – 5 years: Give two 5ml spoonfuls

When should this product not be used?

Tixylix Baby Syrup is not suitable for babies under the age of 3 months. Do not give this product to your child if they are allergic to glycerol or any of the other listed ingredients. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before giving this product to your child if they are already taking any other medications or have any underlying medical conditions. This product contains maltitol, so speak to your doctor or pharmacist before giving this product to your child if they are intolerant to some sugars.

Does Tixylix Baby Syrup have any side effects?

Like all medications, Tixylix Baby Syrup can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. This includes diarrhoea if you give your child more of this product than you should. If your child experiences this or any other side effect while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
