What is Tixylix Baby Syrup?

Tixylix Baby Syrup is a cough syrup that works to relieve the effects of a dry, tickly cough. The active ingredient in this syrup is glycerol. Glycerol works by soothing the throat which helps to stop irritants that cause dry coughs. This will stop the tickly sensations that can will result in a cough.

What is the cause of a cough?

A cough is the body’s response to irritation in the airways and is a way of trying to clear them. A dry cough doesn’t produce any phlegm, unlike a chesty or mucus cough. Causes of a dry cough include a cold or the flu, an allergy, dust, smoke, bronchitis, or pneumonia. A dry cough generally only lasts short-term but if it does persist longer then it may be a sign of a more serious condition.

Who is this Tixylix cough medicine suitable for?

This medicine is suitable to be used by young children aged 3 months to 5 years. It should not be used if the child is allergic to any of the ingredients that are contained in the syrup. If any other forms of medication are currently being used, then it is recommended that you speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this medicine.

How should Tixylix Baby Syrup be used?

This syrup should be used with the included measuring spoon and give the recommended doses:

  • Aged 3-12 months – One 5ml spoonful
  • Aged 1-5 years – Two 5ml spoonfuls

Give the doses 3-4 times a day. Wipe the neck of the bottle after use. If symptoms don’t improve after 3 days, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist.

Are there any side effects?

If you notice any side effect after using, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible.
