How much iron is in these sachets?
Spatone Liquid Iron contains 5mg of ferrous iron (Fe2+) in every sachet. This is 36% of the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) that you are recommended to include in your diet every day, helping you to be sure that you are getting enough iron.

How to take Spatone Liquid Iron
For adults and children over the age of 2, take one Spatone Liquid Iron sachet every day. If you are a pregnant woman, take 2 sachets every day. You can take Spatone Liquid Iron straight from the sachet or dilute into a cold drink. If you choose to dilute this into a drink, choose one that is high in Vitamin C to help with iron absorption. For best results, take on an empty stomach and allow a 30 – 45-minute gap between taking this product and eating or drinking.
When should Spatone Liquid Iron not be used?
Spatone Liquid Iron is not suitable for use by children under the age of 2. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients. Food supplements should not be used in place of a balanced diet or healthy lifestyle. Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before taking this product if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any other medication, have an underlying medical condition, or are giving this product to a child.
What happens if I take too much iron?
If you take high doses of iron, meaning a dose that is over 20mg, then you may notice the following side effects:
