Side effects

Serious side effects

- Abdominal pain, spasms and diarrhoea
- Skin itchiness and rashes

- Yellow or brown-red discolouration of urine
- Low potassium levels in the blood which can lead to weakness of muscles and/or cramps
- Weight loss
- Changes in the shape of the fingers and fingernails
- Muscle spasms and inflammation of the bones and joints
Warnings
Senokot Adult Fruit Tablets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
- You have a blockage or narrowing of the gastrointestinal tract or bowel
- You have paralysis or lack of muscle tone in the bowel
- You have appendicitis
- You have inflammatory bowel disease e.g. Crohn's or ulcerative colitis
- You have severe dehydration
- You have persistent or undiagnosed abdominal complaints e.g. pain, nausea and vomiting
- You have faecal impaction
- You have rectal bleeding or blood in the stools, which you don't know the cause of
- You have a sudden change in bowel habits that has lasted for over two weeks
- You have heart failure
- You have kidney failure

Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medication:
- Medicines for heart conditions e.g. cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmic medicines such as quinidine
- Medicines that induce QT elongation
- Diuretics
- Adrenocorticosteroids
- Liquorice root preparations
Age restrictions
This product is unsuitable for anyone under 18 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not take these tablets if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
