Numark Maximum Strength Cold & Flu Relief Sachets are effervescent powders that relieve the symptoms of colds and flu.
How Numark Maximum Strength Cold & Flu Relief Sachets work
Numark Maximum Strength Cold & Flu Relief Sachets contain paracetamol and phenylephrine.
Paracetamol is an analgesic which relieves aches and reduces fever.
Phenylephrine is a decongestant that relieves a blocked-up nose.
Directions
Always take Numark Maximum Strength Cold & Flu Relief Sachets exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Take 1 sachet every 4-6 hours. Do not take more than 4 sachets in 24 hours.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Numark Maximum Strength Cold & Flu Relief Sachets may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include:
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea
- Vomiting
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Numark Maximum Strength Cold & Flu Relief Sachets may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
- You have a serious heart condition
- You have high blood pressure
- You have glaucoma
- You have an overactive thyroid gland
- You have severe liver disease
- You suffer from acute inflammation of the liver
- You suffer from alcohol abuse
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
- You have Raynaud’s phenomenon
- You have diabetes
- You suffer from moderate to severe renal insufficiency
- You have mild to moderate liver disease
- You suffer from haemolytic anaemia
- You suffer from dehydration
- You suffer from chronic malnutrition
- You have an enlarged prostate
- You have a tumour of the adrenal glands
- You suffer from reduced glutathione levels
- You have asthma
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.
Do not take this product if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or tricyclic antidepressants or have taken them within the last 14 days.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medicine:
- Medicines that treat high blood pressure, heart or circulatory problems e.g. ephedrine, epinephrine or dopamine
- Medications that lower blood pressure e.g. hydralazine or minoxidil
- Dixogin for heart disease
- Tetracyclics for depression
- Selegiline for Parkinson’s disease
- Furazolidone for bacterial infections
- Barbiturates
- Anticonvulsants such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, methylphenobarbital or primidone
- Rifampicin or isoniazid for tuberculosis
- Probenecid for gout
- Anticholinergic drugs e.g. glycopyrronium or propantheline
- Metoclopramide or domperidone for nausea and vomiting
- Cholestyramine to reduce blood fat levels
- Propranolol for high blood pressure
- Anticoagulants e.g. warfarin
Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for children under 16 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
Alcohol
You should avoid alcohol when taking this product.
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
