What is the Respirator Face Covering?

The Respirator Face Covering are individually wrapped, disposable face coverings that are meant to be thrown away after each use. The covering fits snugly around the face, designed to work with the contours of your face for a comfortable fit. These respirator face coverings are created with 5 layers of fabric which make this product breathable and comfortable to wear.

Key features of the Respirator Face Covering

  • Individually wrapped
  • 5 Layers

Are these Coverings reusable?

These respirator face coverings are disposable and should not be washed or used more than once. You should discard your face covering and replace it with a new one before it becomes a risk for contact transmission or before they become less effective.

How does this face covering work?

This face covering’s 3D shape is designed according to the ergonomics of your face to ensure a secure fit and increase the breathing capability of this product. This helps to improve air permeability and make it more comfortable to wear and breathe.

How to use this product

Before using, check that the packaging is intact and confirm the marked expiration date on the outer package, only use this product before the expiration date. Open the face covering fully, and position it with the metal nose strip up. Use both hands to press the metal nose strip to fit the bridge of the nose and achieve a better protective effect. Store face coverings in a dry, ventilated, non-corrosive gas environment and away from fire sources and flammable materials. Make sure to clean your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser before and after applying or adjusting your face covering.

What other preventative measures can you take to prevent spreading germs and infection?

Face coverings should not be considered a fool-proof way to prevent the spread of germs or infection. However, you may want to wear a face-covering when taking preventative measures against the spread of illness. Overall, we recommend the following good hygiene practices if you're concerned about spreading infection:

  • Perform hand hygiene frequently, using soap and water (where possible) or an alcohol-based hand rub
  • Try not to touch your face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Cover nose and mouth with a bent elbow or paper tissue when coughing or sneezing and dispose of the tissue immediately after use
  • Keep surfaces clean and disinfected

Can I use these face coverings if I have a beard?

If you have a beard or other facial hair you will usually need to shave before using these respirator face coverings. This will help to ensure that the face covering fits properly and that the filtration system is working as effectively as possible.

How long can you reuse a KN95 mask for?

There is no way of determining the maximum possible number of safe reuses for an KN95 respirator as a generic number to be applied in all cases.

Safe N95 reuse is affected by a number of variables that impact respirator function and contamination over time.

However, manufacturers of KN95 respirators may have specific guidance regarding reuse of their product.

The recommendations below are designed to provide practical advice so that KN95 respirators are discarded before they become a significant risk for contact transmission or their functionality is reduced.

  • Discard KN95 respirators following use during aerosol generating procedures.
  • Discard KN95 respirators contaminated with blood, respiratory or nasal secretions, or other bodily fluids from patients.
  • Discard KN95 respirators following close contact with any patient co-infected with an infectious disease requiring contact precautions.
  • Clean hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after touching or adjusting the respirator (if necessary for comfort or to maintain fit)
  • Avoid touching the inside of the respirator. If inadvertent contact is made with the inside of the respirator, discard the respirator and perform hand hygiene as described above.

How many in a pack?

This listing is for one single mask

Where are the KN95 masks that you have for sale produced?

The KN95 masks are produced in China

Is the KN95 face mask washable?

The standard guidelines say to throw masks out and use new ones. But the standard guidelines are meaningless for people facing a global pandemic and widespread mask shortages.

Using alcohol disinfection is better because it doesn’t require rubbing the mask, such as https://www.chemist-4-u.com/newton-antibacterial-rubbing-alcohol-25ml

In times of panic, we often want to take action, yet one of the simplest ways to disinfect masks is to do nothing! Simply allowing masks to dry will kill viruses.

How many layers do these masks have please

The masks are 5 layer KN95 masks

I have recently equipped on of these mask from a local pharmacy they are been sold as reusable is this correct I was told they where washable ??

Are KN95 Respirator Face Mask CE approved?

I have sent you the CE certification separately

Are these face masks made in China?

China made half the world’s masks before the coronavirus emerged there, and it has expanded production nearly 12-fold since then. These masks are made in China.

Are these masks for single use only?

N95 and KN95 Face Masks: Can you reuse N95 or KN95 face masks?

If possible, it is always recommended to replace N95 or KN95 face masks.

In times of limited supplythe CDC has the following recommendations for extended use and limited reuse of N95 masks:

  • Minimize the number of individuals who need to use respiratory protection through the preferential use of engineering and administrative controls;
  • Use alternatives to N95 respirators (e.g., other classes of filtering facepiece respirators, elastomeric half-mask and full facepiece air purifying respirators, powered air purifying respirators) where feasible;
  • Implement practices allowing extended use and/or limited reuse of N95 respirators, when acceptable; and
  • Prioritize the use of N95 respirators for those personnel at the highest risk of contracting or experiencing complications of infection.

If extending the use of face masks, the following steps should be taken to reduce contact transmission after wearing:

  • Discard N95 respirators following use during aerosol generating procedures.
  • Discard N95 respirators contaminated with blood, respiratory or nasal secretions, or other bodily fluids from patients.
  • Discard N95 respirators following close contact with, or exit from, the care area of any patient co-infected with an infectious disease requiring contact precautions.
  • Consider use of a cleanable face shield (preferred3) over an N95 respirator and/or other steps (e.g., masking patients, use of engineering controls) to reduce surface contamination.
  • Perform hand hygiene with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after touching or adjusting the respirator (if necessary for comfort or to maintain fit).

I would like to know the brand of this mask and the one with filter. I cannot see it on the description to know if it is aligned with the EU/UK health and safety rules. thanks

The brands vary, as we are repeatedly buying these goods in. We check the paperwork and documentation provided with every batch we purchase.

Are these tested for the UK market ?

They stop 95% of particles >0.3 microns in size.

The N95 is the USA Code, KN95 is China code, KF94 is Korea code and FFP2 is the EU code, this includes the UK.

KN95, KF95 and FFP2 face masks are N95 face mask alternatives & N95 equivalents. They are all the same.

Can the purchase of masks be reimbursed by my private medical insurer if I can get the prescription from the NHS?

I doubt your insurer will reimburse for masks, but you can only ask.

Are your kn95 face coverings CE approved??

The masks are CE approved, but not suitable for usage in a clinical or workplace environment

For how many hours does it work? Does it work for long train journeys?

KN95 are washable and reusable. They will work for as long as you are wearing them.

If CE approved why are they not up to the same standard as medical use ? = what is the difference of both reach approved n95 standards ?

In short, N95 masks are the US standards for respirator masks; KN95 masks are the Chinese standards for masks. These are the requirements that the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health requires manufacturers to meet in order to label their masks as N95s.

Despite the long list of differences, the two masks are equivalent or nearly equivalent on the features that most people care about.

Are your mask supported by a certificate issued by BSI? If so in order to verify this I will need either a digital copy of the certificate or the number on the certificate to do so. Thanks

Sorry, KN95 masks aren’t made to UK standard.

I've just purchased a box of 10 kn95 masks with respirator from you but have read online that some of this type are not effective. Are these ok to use? Do they protect others and myself? Thanks

KN95 is a performance rating under the Chinese standard GB2626:2006, the requirements of which are broadly the same as the European standard BSEN149:2001+A1:2009 for FFP2 facemasks. However, there is no independent certification or assurance of their quality and products manufactured to KN95 rating are declared as compliant by the manufacturer.

KN95 must not be used as PPE at work unless their supply has been agreed by HSE. They are fine for civilian use.
