What is Iglü Rapid Relief Gel Mouth Ulcer Treatment?
This is a gel that is a fast form of treatment for mouth ulcers, sore gums, and denture rubbing. It kills bacteria in the mouth while also creating a protective barrier.
What are mouth ulcers?
Mouth ulcers are a common form of ulcer that is commonly found in the oral cavity, also known as the opening of the mouth, or on the tongue. Mouth ulcers are not contagious and are caused by several different conditions. These include things you can help prevent and things that you cannot. Things such as biting the inside of your cheek, cuts and burns when eating and drinking, or a toothbrush or toothpaste that is irritating. Some conditions that cannot be controlled, such as hormone changes, medication, or genetics can make getting mouth ulcers more common.
How does Iglu help to treat mouth ulcers?
Iglu Gel works in three ways to treat ulcers:
- It forms a coating that helps to protect the sensitive area of the mouth that has been affected.
- The active ingredient lidocaine works as a painkiller
- Prevents infection
What is the difference between this Rapid Relief Gel and the standard Gel?
There isn't as much difference between the two gels as you would think. They both share the same active ingredients, lidocaine and aminoacridine, and both come in 8g tubes. The difference, apart from packaging, is the fact that the standard Gel requires a pharmacist to approve the purchase of the gel, whereas, with the Rapid Relief Gel, that is not necessary.
Who is this Iglu Gel suitable for?
It is suitable for adults and children aged 7 and over. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in the gel. These are:
- Lidocaine hydrochloride
- Aminoacridine hydrochloride
- Carbomer
- Hydroxypropylcellulose
- White soft paraffin
- Liquid paraffin
- Peppermint oil
Can this Iglu gel be used by someone who is either pregnant or breastfeeding?
Caution should be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, so speak to your doctor before using.
Can the gel be used with other types of medication?
There is no evidence of problems when using Iglu Gel in conjunction with other types of medication. Though if you are unsure, you should consult a doctor.
Are there any side effects?
