What is Hedrin Treat & Go Spray?

Hedrin Treat & Go Spray is a form of treatment that works to remove head lice from the scalp. This treatment works thanks to two active ingredients:

  • Dimeticone
  • Actividol

Dimeticone coats the lice and makes it harder for them to move and also remove any excess water. This kills the lice and makes it easier to remove them. The other active ingredient, Actividol, is an ingredient that removes the natural coating on the lice, which causes them to dehydrate, as the coating is a mechanism that stops too much water from leaving the lice.

What causes head lice to appear?

Head lice generally spread from person-to-person as a result of coming into contact. This happens often with children. Head lice can also spread as a result of sharing items, such as a comb, brush, headphones, hat, and other fabric items such as a towel. Anyone who experiences itching on the head, or the feeling of something crawling on their head, could have lice. Another symptom is sore and scabs appearing on the scalp.

Who is this Hedrin treatment suitable for?

This treatment is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 6 months and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the spray. If you are using any other form of medication, then you should speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this spray?

There is no evidence of any problems when using this spray when pregnant or breastfeeding. Though it is recommended that anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding speaks to a medical professional for advice before using.

How should Hedrin Treat & Go Spray be used?

Shake the bottle well before use and then apply onto dry hair. Either rub or comb the solution into the hair, ensuring that a sufficient amount is used on the scalp and hair. Allow to dry or use a hairdryer. Leave the solution in for 8 hours and then wash it out. Repeat this process after 7 days.

Are there any side effects?

Like with many types of medication, there is a chance of side effects. The most likely cause of a side effect will be an allergic reaction. If you notice any side effect, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
