The blades are coated with an anti-friction coating that makes for a shave that you will hardly feel. The lubrication strip will help to reduce redness and irritation on the skin. There is also a precision trimmer on the back of the head for hard to reach areas when shaving.

This is because the head of the handle is the same on all of the razors, with the ProGlide and ProShield also having the FlexBall technology. The same head can also be found on the Gillette Skinguard razor, which is cross-compatible with the Fusion5 range.
How are the Fusion5 ProGlide and ProShield blades different from the Fusion5?
The Fusion5 range all feature the same 5 anti-friction blades, with a precision trimmer on the back. The lubrication strip on the ProGlide and ProShield is 25% bigger than on the Fusion5. The ProShield feature extra lubrication on the bottom of the blades which helps to provide lubrication before as well as after shaving. The best way to know which is the right one for you is to try them out and find out for yourself.
How often should the Fusion5 blades be replaced?
It is recommended that the blades be replaced every month, though this will differ depending on how often you shave. You will know when to change the blades when it starts to pull on the hair when shaving. The lubrication will also fade over time.
