What is Germoloids Cream?

Germaloids Cream is an effective treatment for both internal and external haemorrhoids (piles). It can be used to relieve the painful symptoms, swelling and irritation caused by piles, as well as helping the healing process by reducing swelling. The formula contains two active substances which help to soothe and protect the area around the anus and the cream base acts as an emollient to help the passing of stools and reduce straining during bowel movements. If you’re looking for an easy, soothing treatment for haemorrhoids, try Germoloids cream.

What are haemorrhoids?

Haemorrhoids (commonly known as piles) are swellings in or around the bottom which contain enlarged blood vessels. In many cases, haemorrhoids don’t cause and symptoms and you may not even notice that you have them. However, it is possible for them to cause some symptoms including:

  • Bleeding after passing a stool (you will notices that the blood is usually bright red)
  • Itchy bottom
  • A lump hanging down outside of the anus which may need to be pushed back in after passing a stool
  • Mucus discharge after passing a stool
  • Soreness, redness and swelling around the anus area

Haemorrhoids are not often painful unless the blood supply slows down or is interrupted.

How to treat piles

Haemorrhoids tend to clear up on their own after a few days, but there are treatments that you can use which can help to reduce the itching and discomfort that can be experienced when suffering with haemorrhoids. Making simple dietary changes by including more fibre and water to your diet to ensure stools can pass without strain. Creams, such as Germoloids, ointments and suppositories can be used to relieve swelling and discomfort. If you experience severe symptoms, pain or discomfort caused by haemorrhoids, it is recommended that you seek advice from your doctor. If you experience any bleeding from your bottom (rectum) and you are not completely sure that it is haemorrhoids, seek advice from your doctor as rectal bleeding can be a symptom of potentially serious illnesses.

How can Germoloids Cream provide relief from haemorrhoids?

Germoloids Cream contains two active ingredients:

  • Zinc oxide
  • Lidocaine

Zinc oxide has astringent properties, which means that it causes contractions when applied to the skin. This action can help to shrink swelling caused by haemorrhoids. It also helps to soothe and protect the anal area from damage and has mild antiseptic properties. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic which helps to soothe the pain, swelling and irritation caused by haemorrhoids and relieve itching. The cream base of this treatment can help when passing stools and reduce straining during bowel movement.

How to use this product

Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before applying the treatment. Applying Germaloid Cream is simple and can help to provide relief in just a few simple steps:

  • Before using this product for the first time, ensure that the tube seal is not broken
  • Remove the seal
  • If using this product for external haemorrhoids, simply apply the cream directly to the affected area.
  • If using for internal haemorrhoids screw the applicator nozzle onto the tube and smear some of the cream on the outside of the nozzle to ease application, before carefully inserting the applicator into the opening of the anus. Gently squeeze the tube whilst slowly withdrawing the nozzle to that the cream moves gently up the anus.
  • Replace the cap firmly after use and always keep the tube away from children.

Apply the cream to the affected area at least twice a day with a minimum of 3-4 hours between applications. Further applications can be made at any time of the day and are particularly recommended after a bowel movement. Do NOT use the cream more than 4 times in any 24 hour period.
