Gengigel spray is a complimentary therapy which can be used alongside a thorough daily dental care routine to protect from gum disease. What is gum disease?
Gum disease is a common dental problem which causes red, swollen gums and bleeding after you’ve brushed or flossed your teeth. In its early stages, gum disease is called gingivitis, but if your gums aren’t cared for properly it can develop into periodontitis, which can affect the tissues and bones with hold your teeth in place. Some of the most common symptoms of periodontitis include:
- Bad breath
- An unpleasant taste in the mouth
- Loose teeth
- Abscesses under the gums or teeth
How will Gengigel spray help to prevent gum disease?
Gengigel spray is a complimentary therapy which contains an active ingredient called sodium hyaluronate, a substance which naturally created in our bodies when repairing tissues. It attaches to your gums, forming a protective barrier over sensitive, damaged areas, keeping saliva and bacteria at bay and giving the area a chance to heal.
Can this spray be used for other conditions?
Gengigel spray can help to soothe a range of other conditions, as well as gingivitis, including:
- Mouth ulcers
- Periodontitis
- Receding gums
- Post-surgery gum trauma
Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
You can use Gengigel spray if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, but you should always speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medication at this time. This will help you to be sure it’s safe for both you and baby.
Can I use more than one Gengigel product at a time?
You can use more than one Gengigel product at once if you feel like you need more protection, or if you feel like one product is more convenient to use than another at any particular time. For example, you may choose to use the Gengigel mouthwash at home, and the Gengigel spray or gel when you’re on the go.
Can I eat after using this spray?
Once you’ve used this spray, you should wait for at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything. Ideally, you should use this product after eating a main meal, rather than before.
Can I use this spray if I’m taking other medication?
If you’re taking any other medication, you should speak to your doctor, dentist, or pharmacist before using this product. Some medications can interact when used together, causing unwanted side effects or making your medication less effective, but a medical professional can help you to avoid this.
How to use Gengigel spray
Spray Gengigel into your mouth, following the dosage instructions provided with the product. Do this 3 – 5 times a day for 3 – 4 weeks, until your symptoms have disappeared. For best results, use after main meals.
When should this product not be used?
Gengigel spray is not suitable for use in children under the age of 3. Do not use this product if you are allergic to sodium hyaluronate or any of the other listed ingredients. For use in the mouth only, avoid contact with the eyes or other sensitive areas. If you experience any irritation while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor, dentist, or pharmacist if necessary.
How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place which is between 5 – 40 degrees C. Do not use if the expiry date printed on the original packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
