Threadworm

Threadworm, which is also known as pinworm, is a fun little condition that happens when you swallow tiny threadworm eggs and the worms make their home around your bottom. If you have threadworm, you’ll often notice the little white worms, which look like thread, in your poo, and your anus or vagina will be itchy, especially at night.

Threadworm is particularly common in children, simply because kids tend to be less strict about their personal hygiene than adults, leaving them more vulnerable to picking it up and spreading it to their family.

Remember, your final treatment will be decided by our prescribers based on your answers provided within your consultation. You will be asked to indicate a preferred treatment option from a selected list after completion of your consult.

How do threadworm treatments work?

Treatments for threadworm include mebendazole, which kills the worms and treats the cause of the condition all in one.

It can be prescribed to children aged 6 months and over and is often available in multipacks designed to treat the whole family at once.

If you or your child has threadworm and needs an effective treatment you can start a consultation with our prescriber so they can determine whether a prescription medication will be the right remedy.

If they write your prescription, our pharmacy team will fulfill it and send it out to your door right away, your treatment will arrive in discreet packaging, ensuring that your medical condition stays your business and nobody else's.
