What is Cetavlex Antiseptic Cream?

Cetavlex Antiseptic Cream is a vital part of your first aid kit, used to treat and cleanse minor wounds, burns and cuts to the skin as well as nappy rash. This cream contains a chemical called cetrimide which destroys germs and helps to prevent infection.

How to use antiseptic cream

Cetavlex Antiseptic cream is for external use only - take care to avoid application to the ears and eyes. Start by washing your hands with soap and water, then apply gentle pressure to the wound with sterile gauze if it’s still bleeding. Rinse the wound with clean water or clean it with an antiseptic wipe, then apply Cetavlex Antiseptic Cream. In some cases, you may wish to cover the wound with a sterile dressing after you’ve applied the cream.

When should Cetavlex Antiseptic Cream not be used?

Cetavlex Antiseptic Cream will be suitable for most people, but it should not be used if you are sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients. Do not use this cream with soap, as it may become less effective.

Are there any side effects?

It is unlikely that Cetavlex Antiseptic Cream will cause any significant side effects. You may notice some irritation of the skin when the cream is first applied. If you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, skin rash) seek medical attention immediately.
