What is Avène Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum?

Avène Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum is an intense hydrating serum specifically designed for dehydrated, sensitive skin. This innovative serum has a silky, melting texture to instantly boost hydration and visibly replenish the skin with water. The hydration complex provides 24 hours of hydration and antioxidant protection so the skin feels soothed, hydrated and comfortable.

How to use this product

Apply morning and evening to a cleansed face and neck. To complete your Avène skincare routine, use Avène Cleanance Comedomed Anti-Blemishes Concentrate, Avène Mattifying Cleansing Foam and Avène Hydrance Rich-UV Hydrating Cream SPF30 Moisturiser.

How do the active ingredients work?

Avène Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum contains Cohederm™, an innovative and patented active ingredient that helps to restore natural hydration levels in the skin, offering longer-lasting results than hyaluronic acid. The other active ingredient is Avène Thermal Spring Water that’s unique and anti-irritating with soothing properties that leaves the skin feeling soothed, supple and soft.

Does serum go on before or after moisturiser?

Your skincare routine should start with the lightest formulas followed by the heavier creams. That means your serum, which will generally be a thin formula, should go on before your moisturiser, which will be thicker. This is so the active ingredients in the serum can penetrate your skin and you can reap all the benefits.

What skin type do I have?

Determining your skin type is the first step in finding the skincare routine that’s right for you. If your skin produces too much sebum, it may become oily and you’ll probably find that your skin feels overly greasy and shiny. If you have dry skin, you could be suffering from skin that is rough, scaly or flaky. If you’ve got a combination skin type, you’ll probably find that the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) will generally be oily and prone to blemishes.

How do I know if I have sensitive skin?

Sensitive skin is a common problem which usually means your skin is easily irritated by products or environmental factors. You may notice redness, dryness and your skin may develop a bumpy rash when it’s exposed to a trigger. Your skin might also be more prone to breakouts and sunburn compared to people without sensitive skin.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use Avène Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. For use on the skin only, avoid contact with eyes and do not swallow. Do not use on broken, bleeding, infected or otherwise damaged skin. If you experience any irritation while using this product, stop using it right away. If irritation persists, speak to your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. If irritation is severe (for example, symptoms of a severe allergic reaction), seek immediate medical assistance.
