Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% is used to treat irritated skin that is caused by eczema and dermatitis. 

 

How Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% works

Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% stops your skin from reacting to triggers that cause skin flare-ups.

The active ingredient in the cream is clobetasone butyrate, a topical corticosteroid that helps control skin inflammation.

The cream also has moisturising properties.

 

Directions

Always use Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 

Use the cream 1-2 times a day for 7 days. Apply the cream to the area of the skin that needs treating and gently rub it in. Wash your hands after application.

 

Side effects

Like all medicines, Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. If you use more than the correct amount of cream or use it for a long period of time, side effects include: 

 

  • Increased weight 
  • Rounding of the face
  • Obesity
  • Skin thinning
  • Changes in the colour of the skin
  • Increased body hair 

 

The following side effects may occur in children:

 

  • Delayed weight gain 
  • Slow growth 

 

Side effects that may show up in blood tests or medical examinations include:

 

  • A decrease in the level of cortisol in your blood
  • Increased levels of sugar in your blood or urine 
  • High blood pressure 
  • Cataracts 
  • Glaucoma 
  • Osteoporosis 

 

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

 

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

 

Warnings

Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:

 

  • You have itchy skin that isn’t red
  • You have an open cut or wound

 

Do not use this product on any of the following skin problems:

 

  • Infected skin e.g. cold sores, herpes, chickenpox, impetigo, athlete's foot or thrush
  • Acne
  • Rosacea 
  • Leg ulcers

 

Do not use Eumovate Eczema & Dermatitis Cream 0.05% on large areas of skin, your face, groin, genital area, or between the toes.

Do not cover the treated area with bandages or dressings.

 

Using/taking other medicines

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product. 

 

Age restrictions 

This product is not suitable for children under 12 years old.

 

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine. 

 

Storage information

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.

I have used this on and off for sometime for eczema and heat rash even stings and insects bites . It is the best I have found . Although the price has increased a lot recently . I guess you get what you pay for.
