Zapins is a popular brand of Co-Codamol, a medication used to relieve severe pain in adults. It is generally prescribed when regular painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen haven’t managed the pain. Zapain is made up of two active ingredients - 30mg of codeine and 500mg of paracetamol.

How does Zapain work?

Zapain is a is made up of two active ingredients that help relieve pain. The first of these, codeine, belongs to a family of medicines called opioid analgesics. They work by binding to the opioid receptors in the brain, which help to reduce the feeling of pain. Paracetamol, the second active ingredient, provides an antipyretic effect, which lowers high temperatures and fever.

What are the benefits of Zapain?

Being in severe pain on a day-to-day basis can affect your ability to live life as normal. This can lead to low moods, anger, and anxiety, and affect your quality of life. If you are suffering from severe pain, this can help to reduce this and make the condition more bearable.

How do I take Zapain?

Your doctor will advise you on the dosage you should be taking. As a rough guide, you should take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours, never exceeding 8 doses in any 24 hour period. Never exceed the stated dose, and speak to a doctor before changing your dose or stopping taking the medication, as Zapain can become addictive.

Speak to your GP for more information about Zapain and addiction, or if you have a history of alcoholism or drug addiction.

Zapain is available as capsules or tablets.

Is Zapain right for me?

Zapain should be taken by adults wanting to relieve severe pain, but there are exceptions which may mean it is not right for you. It is important you inform your doctor of any medication you are taking, including over the counter medication, when you complete the medical questionnaire.

You will not be prescribed Zapain if you are allergic to codeine, paracetamol, or any of the other ingredient listed in the patient information handbook. You may also not be allowed to take it if you are breastfeeding, suffer from severe kidney or liver disease, have severe breathing problems, have diarrhoea, have recently had a gallbladder operation, or if you drink a lot of alcohol. You may also not be allowed to take it if you rapidly metabolise codeine into morphine.

What are the side effects of Zapain?

Any form of medication can have side effects, although many people don’t experience any. Always read the patient information leaflet and familiarise yourself with the side effects before use. Common side effects of Zapain include dizziness, sleepiness or lightheadedness, nausea or vomiting, stomach pains or constipation. You can reduce the risk of experiencing side effects by letting your doctor know all other medication you are currently taking. Do not drink alcohol whilst taking Zapain as it will increase the risk of side effects.

How do I buy Zapain online?

The only legal way to buy Zapain online is with a prescription from a GMC/EU registered doctor, such as Doctor-4-U. You will complete a medical questionnaire, and if your request is deemed suitable, your prescription will usually be dispatched within 24 hours. If it is is not deemed correct for you, you will receive a full refund.

Getting a headache or a migraine is one of the most uncomfortable feelings you can have, and potentially one of the most painful as well. There is a wide range of treatments out there that say that they help clear headaches and migraines but which ones are the most suitable?

Sometimes when you take painkillers you find that although they make your headache, backache, or whatever your aches and pains you’re trying to treat a bit better, they don’t quite do the job.

This is when you might consider picking up another painkiller to try to kick that pain to the curb. But how do you know if this is safe? Can you take more than one painkiller at once?

If you’ve ever looked into your medicine cabinet and asked yourself one of these questions then you’ve come to the right place.
