What is Extra Chewing Gum?

Extra Chewing Gum is a sugar free gum that can be chewed throughout the day to help to reduce harmful plaque acid in your mouth. This gum is approved by the British Dental Health Foundation and is safe for vegetarians. Extra Chewing Gum is available in three delicious flavours, peppermint, spearmint, and strawberry.

What is plaque?

Plaque is the colourless, sticky film that builds up on your teeth throughout the day. It’s made of bacteria and sugars, and when these bacteria build up it can cause tooth decay and gum disease, which is why it’s so important to keep your teeth clean. Some of the most common signs of tooth decay that you may notice include:

  • Toothache, which may be continuous or an occasional sharp pain
  • Sensitive teeth, which may cause pain when eating or drinking
  • Discolouration of the teeth, including grey, black, or brown spots forming
  • Bad breath
  • An unpleasant taste in the mouth

How can chewing gum be good for my teeth?

Extra Chewing Gum can be good for your teeth as it can help to stimulate your natural saliva. This will neutralise the drop in pH levels that happens in your mouth after earing. When this pH level drops, plaque acids can attack your teeth and gums, leading to tooth decay. Chewing for 20 minutes after eating or drinking helps to reduce plaque acid, reducing the risk of tooth decay.

What is the best way to use this gum?

The best way to use Extra Chewing Gum is to chew for around 20 minutes after eating or drinking. Do this throughout the day to help to reduce plaque build up that can cause dental decay.

When should Extra Chewing Gum not be used?

Do not chew Extra Chewing Gum if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients. This product contains soya. Excessive consumption may produce a laxative effect.
