What are Suresign Alcohol Screening Tests? 

Suresign Alcohol Screening Tests are used to detect the presence of alcohol in your exhaled breath, and you can get accurate results in as little as 2 minutes. This test provides the relative blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at 0.05%, 0.03% under the UK legal limit for driving. It’s useful if you plan to drive, use heavy machinery or perform a potentially dangerous task to ensure you’re not over the legal limit and do so safely.

How to use this product

Before you begin the test, allow the test to reach room temperature (15-30°C). Wait 15 minutes after your last alcoholic drink or drink a glass of water. Then, remove the detector from the sealed pouch, being careful not to touch the mouthpiece.

Hold the middle of the detector and squeeze to break the inner glass tube containing the yellow crystals; do not crush or bend the detector. You should perform the test as soon as possible after breaking the inner glass tube. Holding the detector horizontally, take a deep breath and blow hard into the mouthpiece in one continuous breath for 12 seconds.

Afterwards, shake the detector to distribute the crystals evenly in the test window. Wait 2 minutes to read the result by identifying the colour of the crystals. If the alcohol detected on your breath is low, it will show a negative result in the form of mostly yellow or light yellow crystals in the testing window. If the alcohol detected is high, the crystals will be green/and or blue. If the test is invalid, the majority of the crystals will be light yellow, but slightly green and/or blue in the testing window.

Storage information

Store either at room temperature or refrigerated between 2-30°C out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging.
