What are Sunvit D3 1000iu tablets?

Sunvit D3 supplements are vegetarian, halal, environmentally friendly and dairy and gluten free, containing 1000iu (25μg) of vitamin D. Vitamin D, otherwise known as the sunshine vitamin, is essential for the maintenance of normal muscle function and the immune system, in addition to regulating the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body.

What is the recommended dosage?

Always take Sunvit D3 1000iu supplements exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. Take 1 tablet per day. It’s recommended that you take your vitamin D3 supplement in the evening with your main meal.

Who needs vitamin D supplements?

The NHS recommends that everyone over the age of 4 should take 10 microgram vitamin D supplements during autumn and winter. This is because we usually get vitamin D from sunlight hitting our skin and when the lovely British weather kicks in in the colder months it can be harder for us to catch those rays.

Although you can get vitamin D from your diet, it’s not the easiest vitamin to get enough of, which is why daily supplements step in to help. If you’re someone who isn’t exposed to a lot of sunlight in general, you can take a vitamin D supplement all year round to help keep your levels up.

What are the benefits of vitamin D?

Vitamin D supplements can contribute to the normal function of your immune system, strengthen your bones and teeth, aid muscle function, and help your body absorb minerals such as calcium.

Is Sunvit D3 1000iu tablets suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking this supplement.

When should this product not be used?

Sunvit D3 1000iu tablets will be suitable for most people, but you should check with your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have any pre-existing medical conditions or take any other medications or herbal remedies, including those obtained without a prescription.

Are there any side effects?

It is very unlikely that you will experience any side effects from taking this supplement. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, skin rash) seek medical attention immediately.

If you experience any side effects, including those that are not listed in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
