What is Sudocrem Care and Protect?

Sudocrem Care and Protect is an ointment that offers triple action protection in order to prevent nappy rash. This ointment helps to form a protective barrier that seals in the moisture in the skin. This keeps the skin hydrated, soft, and supple. This will also protect the skin against the irritants and rubbing that can cause nappy rash. This ointment contains the ingredients vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5 which help to protect the skin and keep it healthy.

What is the cause of nappy rash?

Nappy rash is said to affect up to a third of babies and toddlers. Nappy rash can be caused by:

  • The skin is in contact with urine or faeces for a long period of time
  • The nappy rubbing against the skin
  • Not cleaning the nappy area or changing the nappy enough
  • Soaps, detergents, or bubble bath
  • Alcohol-based baby wipes
  • Antibiotics

The mild nappy rash will not be sore, but more severe forms will cause discomfort.

Who is this Sudocrem treatment suitable for?

This Sudocrem product is suitable to be used by babies and toddlers who may be suffering from nappy rash. It should not be used if the child is allergic to the ingredients contained in the solution. If any form of treatment is being used, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using.

How should Sudocrem Care and Protect be used?

Clean your hands before use. Apply on to the skin that has been dried, and apply it evenly over the skin. This will ensure that a protective barrier is formed over the skin. Use whenever you change your child’s nappy.

Are there any side effects?

Any side effect is most likely to be caused by an allergic reaction. If you notice any side effect, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
