What are Ensure Compact shakes?
Ensure Compact is designed for those who struggle with or are at risk of developing malnutrition. If you’re struggling to drink a larger shake or just don’t have any appetite, Ensure Compact can help you to get the nutrition your body needs. Ensure Compact is available in three delicious flavours, vanilla, banana, and strawberry.
What causes malnutrition?
Malnutrition means that your body is suffering from lack of nutrients it needs to function at it’s best. This could be because of your diet or if you have a medical condition which prevents you from absorbing nutrients from your food. You could also be suffering from a long-term condition that makes you lose your appetite, such as cancer or liver disease.
How many calories are in each bottle?
Each 125ml Ensure Compact bottle contains 300 calories and 13g of protein. 625ml of Ensure Compact is nutritionally complete for vitamins and minerals for men aged 19 – 50 years, based on the UK Reference Nutrient Intake for men.
Is this product suitable for different diets?
Banana and vanilla flavoured Ensure Compact shakes are gluten free, and are suitable for vegetarian, Kosher, and Halal diets. Strawberry flavour is gluten free, but is not suitable for Kosher or vegetarian diets. The Vitamin D in these shakes is synthesized from cholesterol, which is extracted from the grease in wool sheared from live sheep, which may have an impact on whether you consider this product to be suitable for your diet.
How to take Ensure Compact
Ensure Compact comes in an easy to open bottle, so you can just open it up and drink your shake whenever you need it, it even comes with a straw. Although Ensure Compact is best served chilled, it is also a great warm drink. However, make sure you never boil this product as this could destroy some of the valuable nutrients.
When should Ensure Compact not be used?
Ensure Compact contains milk and soy ingredients, do not take this product if you are allergic to these or any of the other listed ingredients. All Ensure products contain some lactose, but do not represent a medical concern for those with a lactose intolerance due to the small amount (<500mg of lactose per serving). Ensure Compact is not suitable for those with galactosemia. This product is for special medical purposes and should only be used under medical supervision.
