Should I give my toddler growing up milk?

Even though growing up milk has been specially designed for toddlers, it is completely up to you whether you use them as part of your child’s diet. It may be beneficial for you to speak to your doctor or healthcare advisor to see if growing up milk is right for your child. Although growing up milk is not necessary to ensure your child is receiving adequate nutrition, it can be useful for compensating for natural nutritional deficiencies that may occur when your child transitions from milk to solid food. As children move on from bottle-feeding, it can be difficult to include all the nutrition your child needs, as they may not like certain foods or be a fussy eater. Using growing up milk may help to supplement your child’s diet by including vitamins and minerals, such as iron to help support healthy development and growth.

How can SMA Formula help to support your toddler’s nutrition?

SMA Nutrition has been leading baby nutrition research for over 100 years and they have an expert understanding of the evolving nutritional needs of young children. SMA Growing Up Milk is a way to help support your child’s nutrient intake in combination with a healthy balanced diet. The formula is enriched with iron to help support normal cognitive development and a blend of vitamins A, C and D to help support the normal function of your child’s immune system. This product also contains calcium to support the normal development of bones, as well as Omega 3 and 6 and iodine to help support normal growth. The organic formula is created with high-quality organic milk from cows that has spent time outside where they are organically fed. This product is certified both halal and organic.

How to use SMA Growing Up Milk

Although this product has been created under strict hygienic conditions it isn’t sterile, so it is important that you carefully follow these preparation instructions to avoid making your toddler ill. Firstly, carefully pull the safety seal, remove it from the tin and dispose of it. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Measure 180ml of cooled boiled water into a clean beaker. Using the scoop provided (do NOT use any other measuring utensil other than the provided scoop) add 6 scoops of powder, levelling off each scoop with the back of a clean, dry knife. Store the scoops in suspension inside the can and replace the lid. Place a lid on the beaker and shake well until the powder is fully dissolved. Cool the beaker under cold running water until the formula is lukewarm. Test the temperature by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist.

It is recommended after 12 months that your child has 400ml of milk per day. You can feed your child up to 2 servings per day, depending on their individual nutritional needs. Made-up formulae can be poured over cereals and mixed with food.

Warnings

Do NOT add extra powder or water to make the milk drink stronger or weaker and do NOT press the powder into the scoop. Using too much or too little powder can cause your toddler to become ill.
