What is Probio7 Bifikalm?

Probio7 Bifikalm are supplement drops that are designed to support your baby’s digestive system. This probiotic formula helps to promote a healthy balance of bacteria in your baby’s intestine, providing ‘friendly’ bacteria that supports digestive and immune health. Bifikalm drops are ideal for babies who are suffering with indigestion, gas, and discomfort caused by digestion and have been clinically proven to reduce the time spent crying by up to 68% in colicky babies.

What is colic?

Colic is a condition where babies cry a lot without there being an obvious cause. This can be distressing for both baby and their parents, as colicky babies can cry for over 3 hours a day and maybe more difficult to soothe or settle. We currently don’t know what causes colic, but some theories suggest that it’s caused by indigestion, as your little one can find it harder to digest food at first. This is why many parents turn to drops or probiotics that may support their baby’s digestive system.

How will Probio7 Bifikalm help to support my baby’s digestive system?

Probio7 Bifikalm contains 1 billion live bacteria strains in each dose of 5 drops. These strains are Pediococcus pentosaceus CECT 8330 and Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7894, and they are naturally present in your baby’s intestine. Giving these drops to your baby helps to balance of good and bad bacteria in baby’s intestine, helping them to digest their food and reducing the amount of time spent crying by up to 68% in colicky babies.

How long will this product take to work?

You’ll normally notice improvements in your baby’s symptoms within 3 – 4 days. However, it can take longer than this if your baby is taking medication which affects their digestive system.

Is this product suitable for my baby’s dietary requirements?

Probio7 Bifikalm is free from gluten, GMO, and lactose. The drops do not contain artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Can I use this product if my child is taking other medication?

Probio7 Bifikalm drops are more like food than drugs and are not known to interact with any other medications. Some parents even find that these drops can help to reduce the side effects of antibiotics, although this can differ from person to person. If your child is taking any other medication or has an underlying medical condition, we recommend speaking to your doctor or pharmacist before giving them Bifikalm drops, so you can be sure that this product is suitable.

Is this product for breastfed or formula-fed babies?

Probio7 Bifikalm is suitable for formula and breastfed babies, and can be given to your little one in different ways depending on how they’re fed.

How to use Probio7 Bifikalm drops

There are three ways you can use Probio7 Bifikalm drops, and you can use whichever will be easiest for you to give to your baby. Give your baby 5 drops a day at the same time every day, preferably with their first feed. Shake bottle well before every use to make sure the formula is mixed properly.

  • Bottle feeding: Prepare your baby’s bottle as recommended by the manufacturer, making sure it is not warmer than 37 degrees C. Add 5 drops of Bifikalm to the formula and feed to your baby. Discard any unused formula after use.
  • Use your finger or a spoon: Place the drops on a clean finger or a spoon and allow baby to suck. If you need to, you can add the drops one at a time until your baby has taken all 5 drops.
  • Breastfeeding: Place the drops onto the mother’s nipple and allow baby to suck. If you need to, you can add the drops one at a time until your baby has taken all 5 drops.

Can I add these drops to formula I’ve prepared and stored in the refrigerator?

The probiotics in Bifikalm drops only activate when they come into contact with saliva, so it’s perfectly fine for you to add them to formula or breastmilk you’ve stored in the fridge. The bacteria will stay alive in the formula, activating when your baby has their feed.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use Probio7 Bifikalm drops if your baby is allergic to any of the listed ingredients. This product is not suitable for babies under the age of 2 months. This product is a food supplement and should not be used in place of a balanced diet or healthy lifestyle. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if your child is taking any medication or has any underlying medical conditions.

Do Bifikalm drops have any side effects?

There are no lasting side effects of probiotics, but there may be some changes in your baby’s gut when they start taking this product. These will usually pass when your baby’s digestive system gets used to the probiotic formula. During this time, your baby may experience some mild digestive changes, such as flatulence and bloating, which happen because your baby’s digestive system is reacting to the higher levels of good bacteria.
