Pravastatin

£29.99

Pravastatin is a type of medication that may be prescribed for people who suffer from high cholesterol. Cholesterol is a naturally occurring substance that the body needs. But too much cholesterol can be very bad for you, accumulating on the walls of blood vessels and increasing your risk of having a heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke, or blood clots.

How it works

Pravastatin contains an active ingredient of the same name. It belongs to a family of medicines call statins, which regulate the body’s levels of fat. Pravastatin is used to lower levels of cholesterol when lifestyle changes alone have not worked. You should stay on a low fat diet whilst taking Pravastatin.

What are the benefits of Pravastatin?

Having too much cholesterol in your body can put you at higher risk of conditions such as heart attacks and strokes, which can be potentially life threatening. Pravastatin helps to lower your cholesterol when lifestyle changes haven’t helped enough, and so can reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.

How to take Pravastatin.

You should always follow your doctor’s recommendation on taking Pravastatin, and only use the following information as a guide.

The recommended dose is one dose of 10-40mg taken once a day in the evening. It can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. Your doctor will advise on the dose you should take. The maximum dose is 40mg a day. Do not exceed this.

Is Pravastatin right for me?

The suitability of Pravastatin will be assessed by your doctor as there are some medical conditions that mean it may not be right for you. You may not be prescribed the medication if you are allergic to pravastatin or any of the other ingredients listed in the patient information handbook, if you have a disease which affects your liver, or you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What are the side effects of Pravastatin?

All medications have side effects but not everyone gets them. You can reduce the risk of side effects by informing your doctor of your full medical history and any other medications you are currently taking. Common side effects of Pravastatin include headache, constipation, dizziness, sleep disturbances and nausea.

How do I buy Pravastatin online?

To buy Pravastatin legally and safely online, you need a prescription from a GMC/EU registered doctor, such as Doctor-4-U. Our online doctor will allow you to request a prescription via a medical questionnaire. If you are deemed suitable for Pravastatin, your prescription will usually be dispatched within 24 hours.
